I am leaving an open topic in my personal blog here for at least a week so folks can weigh in on the idea of us going “all the way” to hardcore around here. No viewpoint will be considered unacceptable unless it is something stupid like “LOL FAG!” or something equally immature. ;p
Thanks.

Mace, while I don’t mind the sex(y) scenes, as long as they are there for story reasons, I’m ok with it. I read my webcomics for the story, not for the sex.
Honestly, provided the writing remains entertaining (which I don’t doubt will be the case), I don’t mind either way. Not a whole lot of help to you, I’m sure, but after careful consideration that’s all I could come up with.
I’ll o my best to keep things that way. 😉
This subject makes me think. No, seriously! And I don’t mean (just) with the little head. This isn’t such a simple question as it may seem. I’d love to see explicit, uncensored nudity (both sexes, though my preference is female) and sex in the comic. Of course the word “hardcore” makes me a little leery, but if we’re going by the standards of The Genie’s Handbook that’d be completely fine. I’m sure we can count on you to keep things light and playful as ever Mace. I wouldn’t want to see the comic devolve into “ALL ULTIMATE PISTON-POUNDING HARDCORE SEX SCENES ALL THE TIME!!!” or something but as long as the sexy and the erotic stay in balance with the funny and the plot I don’t see any problem with it. Hmm… Now that I think about it, what was I worried about again? ^,^
Also a valid concern. When I began the series in 2009, I asked tira-chan to be the artist, and I conceded that she did not have to draw male genitals as a condition of her working with me. All the while, I was simultaneously producing Peppermint Saga, which goes “all the way” and then some. “R-Rated Sex Comedy” seemed like a good basis to start with, but as time has drawn on, I find it restricting. Will we go “all goo all the time”? Probably not. But the same scenes that had conveniently hidden goodies and implied sexual situations will simply be implied no more. That’s the basic plan. We’ll see how well that works out and go from there.
“Dancing With The Stars” and “Time to Get Clean/Dirty 2” are good examples of where we are thinking of going with this. And they are now integrated into the main archive if you quickly flip back and take a gander. I added them over the Summer. 😉
1. your advertising is hardcore.
2. hardcore often winds up a paysite. not that there is anything wrong for getting paid for your work.
3. i enjoy hardcore but i prefer a good story line first. many others who have gone hardcore have forgotten how to tell a story. i am happy with a lot of skin and no sex if i can get a good story. some of my favorite comix have no nudity and are still capable of being very sexy while probably Teen rating.
4. your comic could use a little more T & A. it matches your style and advertising
A long time reader
All good points. The advertising wasn’t always that way. We gradually introduced it over time. The main comic is free and will remain so. If we do a paysite, it will be a separate deal. There’s a theory out there that says that people will accept various changes over time as long as they are gradual. However, something as big as this, if we were to take the “sexy scenes”, drop the “y” and make them “sex scenes” might put some off, so I felt that before we take that final step that I should ask our existing readers if they are ready for it. It’s starting to look like they are, so we’ll simply take our leash off and see where it goes. I integrated the commissioned comics and my “hardcore bonuses” to the main archive for all to enjoy over the Summer without too much objection. So I am not anticipating much of a problem, I just prefer to get feedback before I make a drastic change in what we are doing here.
Thanks a lot for your input. It is appreciated.
