Hello again!!

This isn’t Ship-related, but it’s really important!!

As some of you may or may not know, I have a page/account on Deviantart (here it is: http://tira-chan.deviantart.com). If any of you are members there as well, you can help me at a contest I entered last week or so…

I entered a contest for a Slayers group/community there called sea-of-chaos. The voting for the contest will be done thru notes on the site, for which you have to be a subscriber to use. I’m currently REALLY behind on votes so I need all the help I can get T_T

One of the prizes is a Lina Inverse figure that I want more than life itself~!

It’s driving me nuts that the current entries leading don’t look as nice as mine (at least that’s what I think…)

In any case, please help me out if you can~

Ok! So there it is! New page is up, and so are all of the other goodies. I may have forgotten to mention this, but if you want an image OTHER than the one presented on any given month, just go to the “Donations” page and pick the one you want by month and year. There are some exceptions, of course, and that’s the 5 or 6 images made before we settled on the format for such things. So just say something to identify it in your comments to the seller: “Halloween Yoko” or something. SPICY!

Sorry about the continuing delay, folks. I finished off a huge project last week, then instead of feeling super-awesome about it, I was rewarded with a huge case of the blahs. lol

I’m sure the only relationship between the two is the hours I stayed up way too late finishing the other project, so it’s really all my fault. It just felt like being sick all weekend, so I accomplished very little across the board. On the upshot, I am very close to completing a BGR page, but I know that’s not what folks are here for. I still have a shot at landing it for Friday. Who knows.

As a sort of review, I wanted to let folks know what they personally can do to support us in our efforts. Obviously, the biggest help to Nat and I are the donations and incentives. but for those who are in the same boat we are (i.e. no money lol), you can still help. A lot. And you can accomplish this by voting daily at the two sites I have chosen to list our comic on. Both of them help us in unique ways. WebcomicZ is a full-featured listing site that has detailed statistics, a seemingly tight community atmosphere and the site owners and members do comic reviews. Meanwhile, Top Webcomics (TWC on the button) is a “clearinghouse” of comics. It’s one of the oldest and largest popularity based listing sites left. The benefits here are obvious: higher ranking = more traffic.

So, how can you help? Easy. In addition to voting both sites, what we REALLY need is for folks to sign up for an account at WebcomicZ and add Ship in a Bottle to their FAVORITES. I’m not precisely sure what formula is used to determine ranking there, but it is HEAVILY influenced by comics with many favorites. Look at Starship Moonhawk: idle for months, yet remains #35. I’m not bragging, mind you, but I am pointing out how my observational science works here. I figure if we can get Ship in a Bottle to 20 or more favorites, it’ll jump significantly in ranking. Which will result in more readers and hopefully more “Bonus” materials. So even if you have no ability to contribute financially, it’s ok. You can still help us significantly, regardless.

Hey there, Shippers! (that’s my new name for you who are fans of Ship in a Bottle, and yes, I do know there’s another meaning for that term. It still applies. ) Were you aware that the hard-earned money you clanked down is starting to pay off? Page 2 of the bonus story “Dancing With the Stars” is now up in the Bonus gallery, soon to be followed by page 3. (which will contain 100% more penis for our lady readers… and some of the guys. XD) As of yet, there hasn’t been much reaction from the fans here, but from the test sample audience I polled over Instant Messenger last night, this page is hot stuff. Ship shows just how those Mediterranean genies shake that badonkadonk in a magical strip show and belly dance. HAWT~!

Oh ho ho! Remember that little bit about presenting them in one shot? That was a lie. Well, it was TRUE when I said it, but I change my mind a lot. In a quasi-related note, I was TV Troped under the heading “Attention Defecit Creator Disorder”. I am here to tell you that I resemble that remark.

Anyway, ONWARD! Check the “Bonus” area for a new section called “June Donate” which now contains the first page of a little story I call “Dancing With the Stars”, now with 100% more coherent commentary! (as a challenge to the readers, try and spot the two amusing “inserts” without reading the author notes, and then see if you caught all of the references. XD) So, Mace, why did you post the page already? Well, I’ll tell you why, Sparky. It’s simple, really. I realized I can get more hits and passer-by readers if I update it in segments. Plus, I am impatient. so, enjoy?

Well… thanks pretty much solely to DarkCalx, and a few dollars from 4 other submitters (EVERY dollar counts, people. I hope you all enjoyed the gift images! ), we have our first XXX edition of Ship in a Bottle on its way. Now. As to actual TIMING… that’s going to be interesting. Some of you may not be aware of this, but I am vying for the illustrator slot on “The Magnificent Milkmaid” by White Lightning Publishing. It’s no big “secret”, but it’s not official that I have the job yet. There’s this matter of an assignment that I was handed THREE YEARS AGO by their editor and owner Kris Overstreet that I must complete first. Plus… gosh dangit… I told Tira to take a break due to her recent troubles and pick up with page 11. (which will go up next Friday with a HOPEFULLY Monday update of my own, i.e. page 10). So… I’m in a small pickle!

I’ll figure it out, folks. But if you her lots of Tourette’s-esque swearing and breaking of glass and small objects behind the scenes here, as always, I urge you to PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN. *cough* That is all, my friends. And thank you so much!

No, no, no! We’re not on hiatus, we’re not “in trouble” and we’re -NOT DEAD-! Jimminy, people. Relax a little. Here’s what *IS* happening: I am drawing the comic for three pages. And I got a little cocky and thought I’d have a page ready to fly on MONDAY. But then, I was updating the Drunk Duck site for my new series, “The Lavenders” when their server decided to FILL UP and spit back a BLANK PAGE. So I got angry and set up a new sub-domain here on Peppermint Saga’s hosting. [Here] this required an abundant amount of time, and I am back to working 4 days a week to make the money thing work, so it’s requiring a bit of schedule shuffling, especially as I still have the weekly podcast on Wednesday nights as well as my “contract” job for White Lightning. So, I’m alrady behind, then I lost two days and spent all day yesterday working on getting my mojo back. I found it around 3AM and drew a whole page. But, it still requires inking and coloring, my two least favorite things in the WORLD to do. (yeah, the thing I do on this comic besides creating and writing it is my LEAST favorite thing to do. It’s tedious. T_T)

HOWEVER! there will be a page, maybe two this week.
