The long awaited NEW Chapter 3 of Ship in a Bottle: “Hot For Teacher”! I always felt our original introduction to Clara was kinda… lacking. Partially due to the fact that I was smack dab in the middle of a huge falling out with our original artist. Water under the bridge and such, but it’s noteworthy, nonetheless. Anyway, at any rate, this NEW story will not only have you clamoring for more, but for those of you who read this comic over breakfast, you’ll be creaming in your cornflakes. The premise? While working out at the gym (ostensibly to build some *cough* endurance, Alan loses himself and forgets his manners prompting Beatrice to send him to etiquette school. The rest, you’ll just have to wait and see.
Now, for those of you who witnessed the little explosion in the chatango this week (now in absentia), I’ve had some time to consider my response. Before anyone hauls off and declares me “transphobic”, it’s very simple: one does not have the right to appropriate one marginalized minority to satisfy the needs of another. “Claiming” people as something they are not, no matter how well intentioned, is a grotesque practice. You don’t get to come over to my home and erase me and those like me to suit your own agenda. You don’t get to blow out my candle to make yours shine brighter. I may have more to say later. I don’t know. Right now, I am just attempting to stay out of that zone between rage and despair over what just happened, as I was yesterday.
