While You Wait…

Ok, so, I wanted to thank all the fans who purchased our downloadable books this month from DriveThru Comics. 64 total downloads! I think we can do even better next month, and there are some incentives. First of all, someone kicked us up to $396 on Patreon. I’ve decided I will kick in the extra $4 myself. Granted, this means not a penny for me, but it’s worth it if I can generate sales like this as well as keep our advertising revenue up via Project Wonderful (you can also add to our bottom line by purchasing subscriptions, recurring or otherwise, via the links to the left), then eventually, I can make this comic (and the others) my full-time living.

Speaking of the “other” comics, if you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend you pick up the first episode of the original Peppermint Saga. Fallon, our new colorist, redid the colors for the first 10 pages (which were originally done in quasi-black-and-white), and they now look A-mazing. Also, until Feb. 24, it’s only $1. Additionally, we want to fund THREE new BGR episodes ASAP. The rub? It will cost THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS to pull off. “Why, Mace? Why the huge price hike?” Well, because each of these episodes is scheduled to be around 15-20 pages. Which means that, on average, they are TWICE as long as typical episodes. If that’s not exciting enough for you, lemmie share an additional factoid with you: Book II, Eps. 1 is slated to be drawn by XKit, our new, main series artist. HOWEVER, we already have TWO new episodes planned to be drawn by Weremole. The newest idea to come up has Peppermint and Truth facing off against a fellow “treasure hunter” (i.e. master thief), and when our guest star gets caught, they take her for a little “humiliation walk” to loosen up her lips (and her libido). As always with BGR, it’s all consensual fun and games until someone loses an eye, so be sure to pick up a copy of all of our books (especially while they are on sale) over at DriveThru to help us bring these new adventures to life.

Anyway, back to the first point about Patreon: the 2x per week thing won’t happen until MARCH this time. I need some time to catch up with BGR with Prettío, at least get a few more pages under our belt. Plus, all the communication SNAFU’s I think it best to ease off the throttle a little. But keep the donation levels up as high as you can, and maybe we can finish “Project: Wacko” and start “Hot For Teacher” BEFORE the end of Spring. Until then…

I Dun Goofed…

Hey, Campers. Uh… there’s no easy way to say this, but, I totally failed as an editor. I completely missed a total misunderstanding of today’s page during the Monday edits, and by the time I realized it, I found out we had to scrap like, 75% of the page. That means no update tomorrow. What we are going to TRY and do is do 2 updates this coming week, but given that Prettío is not feeling so great (and she lost a lot of time because of me), I told her to take the weekend off, and we’d try again for Wednesday. So, sorry and hang in there. Thanks for your support!

A Little Clarity

So, the question has come up: Why did I put that Patron on blast? Because on Friday, during my Moonhawk Studios podcast, I mentioned that we were $4 shy of maintaining updates 2x per week. One of my cast members on the show said he would bump his pledge, and we could keep 2x per week updates. He did so, putting us at $401. Then, shortly after that, someone on the $5 tier (who will remain nameless) QUIT, dropping us back to $396 and eliminating the possibility of getting updates at the expanded rate. So I said “It’s ok. I’ll just buy other stuff you guys like with the money I have, and it’s still cool.” But then you guys rallied and drove it all the way back up to $414.50. So, guess what? Updates 2x per week continue through part of December thanks to you guys pulling together. Assuming nobody quits tonight, that is. Seems like the perfect night for a jinx ;p

*crosses fingers*

So, that’s all! No biggie, and a HUGE thanks to the fans who rallied at the last minute to rocket us back into another month of expanded updates. You’re that much closer to bondage with Beatrice. 😉

No Page Wednesday

My job is getting too busy now for me to sit around and be an editor while I work, which is a shame. But that issue came into stark relief this afternoon when Prettío and I were trying to solve the dilemma between my vision and what she THOUGHT I was saying. This means that there will be NO page on Wednesday of this week. The cover for Project: Wacko will go up on Friday so Prettío has some time to really see my revisions and finish it off. Plus, my revisions are SO significant, she will have to scrap a large portion of what she already did.

It’s my fault, really. I made a lot of promises about making a pinup of Beatrice to solidify all the ideas we discussed, and I kept agreeing to things over Skype that I really didn’t think out very well. (largely due to the fact that I was at work, and there was no way for me to conceal the fact that I wasn’t working on work when I was in my office on my phone, Skyping). So, I have taken some time this evening to blaze through a sketch-on-a-sketch, and we shall see what we see. Sorry, everyone. Prettío is in no way derelict in her duties. We just couldn’t come to an understanding in the very slim windows of opportunity I was given at work. Now that I am home, I am able to send a REAL revision to her so we can make it right.

Also, don’t worry about “losing a page”. I will “bank” the missing one and tack it on at the end, assuming we lose the 2x-per-week rate. If we keep it, sometime in January, I’ll find a way to get us a week with THREE updates to make up for it. Either way, we’ll figure it out.

“New” Comic, Old Comic, Podcast?

Ok, so, three big things going on as of this week’s Up Late with Mace podcast (do any of you listen to this? It has a lot of useful information about the comics, and you can literally hear me lose my shit Egoraptor-style over a number of topics from commissioning people to Hentai-Foundry’s complete, utter bullshit “standards” policies…):

First: Kawaii Neko Daigaku has re-launched. But in order to keep going, we have to feed the coffers of our fairly expensive artistic talent. His rates are currently non-negotiable because he is currently in VERY high demand. MagniFire is currently working on his own comic, Sisters of the Dusk (a Patreon supported project as well), and I get updates on his commissions every day or two. So, in order to get him back, we’ve set up an ENTIRELY SEPARATE Patreon campaign. I won’t bore you with the details here. Cruise by the KND webpage via the link concealed behind Miho’s shapely posterior immediately above. $1 per comic is all you need contribute to participate.

Second: Peppermint Saga is BACK! (didn’t you hear?) It’s tentatively updating on Friday. Now… I draw this thing, but I pay a colorist to do the finishing touches. So, while I got a little extra each month to handle this for a bit, I will need your help. That’s why we advanced Peppermint Saga up the list on Patreon to the third tier reward. EVENTUALLY, I will be forced to stop making that comic weekly if we are unable to reach the milestone that funds it. That tier is $600. Keep in mind that our man… well, UncolaMan, specifically, will not be able to extend that level of generosity every month. So if you want to see that comic update continuously, you ALSO need to help us fund THIS one, fully at the $400 tier, because we actually aren’t there yet! (which is why I didn’t RAISE the milestone notification on the sidebar here) We are doing the double weekly updates for ONE MONTH, then if nobody else jumps on, we’re back to once a week.

Third: Fuck Hentai-Foundry. Seriously, fuck that place. I hate it. If it weren’t the only place I could go to read “The Party” by Clumzor and Pantboy, I’d delete my account tomorrow. Every time I submit something there, they find SOME reason to deny the fucking thing. I know I’m not the greatest artist on the face of the Earth, but come on. I have to rate higher than the assholes who make Sonic porn in MS Paint! /rant
