Donation Goals?

Ok, so I put up a new poll. Many of you know that I do the hardcore hentai series, “Peppermint Saga”, and a spinoff involving myself and several artist friends working in cahoots called “Blue-Gray Rhapsody”. I am also currently working with the fetish comic company “White Lightning Productions” on a temporary-to-permanent basis, depending on my output and qualitative ability (in the eyes of the editor). This is still under review, and therefore I can’t get TOO specific about it. But anyone who knows WLP and the Milkmaid franchise, as well as Peter is the Wolf, probably has a pretty damn good idea what I am after there. However, not to get TOO far off track, what I am offering is this: *CURRENTLY*, Tira-chan does not have the time to produce more than the page-a-week we currently do. So I am *NOT* offering her services on this. I am offering -mine-. As a dyed-in-the-wool hentai artist, I have the experience and comic-making skill to offer you this extra as often as MONTHLY if we are able to meet certain goals. In addition to that, you will STILL receive the donation gift of your choice, whether we hit the ceiling I’ve chosen or not. So there is no way for you to lose on this. You donate $1, and hope for the best. You donate $2 or more, you get the monthly picture of your choice from our selection, -and- you increase the likelihood that I will produce a BONUS story above and beyond what we have going on canonically speaking. Would that be worth it to you? The poll is open, and standing by. Please answer earnestly. (comments and suggestions also welcome.)

Remember: this is for bonus material, -not- the main comic. Treat this blog entry as my contract with you, the readers, that it will never be mandatory to -ever- pay for this comic (unless in print). We’re just trying to offer new stuff, more and exclusive content for our readers, and make the best of these troubling times.

Current Story and Our Goals

From the beginning, I had intended Ship in a Bottle to be a sexy, mad-cap romp. There’s sex, yes, but it is mostly Ship being sexy that makes this series awesome, in my opinion. So if there is a dearth of nudity of late, please understand that although somewhat whimsical, this series -does- have a story and a plot. On page 5, we will be introducing our “villain of the week” so to speak. And as people might start noticing, like my hentai series, Peppermint Saga, the second arc is much longer than the first. By several magnitudes. That’s because in these things I tend to do a “try before we buy” scenario. What is the initial reaction? Does it scan with the readers? Those kinds of things. Some future arcs may be shorter, and some may be even longer. Some may go way beyond the pale with nudity and sexuality, and others may focus on comedy and “trial-and-error” of being a newly minted genie owner for Alan.

But I should warn folks… due to the whimsical fashion in which I am writing this, any, all or none of these things may come to pass. So part of the adventure is waiting to see what insanity I’ll come up with next.

Yep. I’m still an asshole. but you know you love my antics. XD

Readership Poll Results!

So… after roughly six or seven weeks of voting, it seems that 25% of our readership is female (obviously allowing a margin of error for folks who voted for what they wanted, as opposed to what they are. lol). I am honestly unable to articulate exactly WHAT I think about that. When I developed this series, I really had no idea where I was going with it. When I proposed the idea to tira-chan, I had nothing but a bunch of random little “episodes” snapped out of the lives of the characters, but no story, no plot and I hadn’t even considered making it an “extremely R-rated not-quite-porn” series. I just knew I wanted to do something with a genie girl and a hapless guy and do all kinds of crazy shit a la Urusei Yatsura/Those Annoying Aliens in true Rumiko Takahashi style. Maybe it’s the touching on that, the blatant homage to that work and the immortal appeal of I Dream of Jeannie and the other 60’s classic Bewitched that brings in the women. Granted, it’s not half or more, but a lot more than I expected. And to each one of you ladies keeping an eye on us, whatever your motivation, I hope you continue to enjoy our screwing around here. It’s very much appreciated. And it pleases me to no end. I like to think it means I am on the right track here and made the right decision to go the way I did and chose the artist I chose.
